What the?!?

Thursday morning I woke up to a warm freezer. No, No, No that can't be right. I must bumped then temperature gage. Maybe I left the door open all night.  Hmm no frost...
S*#t, S*#t, S*#t!!
Thank god for the Internet. Friday morning starting at 530 am I searched the Web for a cure for my poor warm fridge.
Then I found this awesome site and found my fridges fix!!
Sears said the part would take a week...Really dude....My fridge is WARM!
Then I found my part here. I grabbed a kiddo for the car pool lane and off we went to North Seattle. It was 130 pm and I had to be back by 4 so Doug could go to work.

Please work, Please work.
Hurray it works. I love that fabulous hum sound of a working fridge.
And we saved sooooo much money doing it ourselves. They wanted to charge me $119 to just tell me what was wrong with my fridge. And the part was only 40 bucks!

Now...What do I do with all of that thawed food...

They enjoyed then aftermath of the fridge drama.
I can's say it enough...I love the internet!

Edited in Picasa3
I'm getting a little braver with each picture.

Little Changes on Wednesday

Today was great!
After reading about becoming a carbon neutral blog it really got the kids and I inspired.
Why not try everyday to do something different to help our planet.
But really do something different once a week. For us wendsday is perfect!! It trash truck pick up day.

These are the things the kiddos and I put together for today:

I would have loved to have been able to walk wherever we need to go today, but that wasn't possible. Maybe next week...
Once we got home and had lunch we headed out to pick up trash as a family around the neighborhood.

In the morning I had the kiddos pick out their utensils for the day. I love Colin's choices. Auntie gave these to him last year and he uses them all of the time!(not the one on the plate)

The storms this spring are amazing!! Luckily we made it the whole two hours without getting wet. The moment we stepped into the garage the sky opened up and POORED!!

Colin has gotten a ton of use of my old Audubon books. I love it!

We ended our day with a fun butterfly/caterpillar craft.

Over all we had a really good time doing this. The kids picked up on it and really took ownership over it. At the dentist Colin got a sticker and after he took the sticker off of the paper backing he said "oh no! Trash...what do i do?? Oh recycle it, phew."

The hardest part for Emilie is her love affair with frozen nutri-grain bars. I let her have one because Colin said he would make art out of the wrapper. Tomorrow I am going to try a receipt for home made bars that supposedly taste the same.  We'll see...

Some things thankfully where really easy for us:
We haven't had paper towels/napkins in the house for years. just a drawer full of towels.
We use cloth diapers and wipes
Almost 95% of the food we eat has to be made and is NOT prepackaged. I've worked really hard on that. Other then the obvious health perks of that one I also have a pantry that is storage for pots and Tupperware and not prepackaged food.

I was surprised at how far one dryer sheet can go.
And how awesome we all  felt at the end of the day!
I can't wait to do it again next week!!

Hopefully some of you will join us!!
I'm thinking a give away would be fun...hmmm....

Every little bit helps....

carbon neutral coupons and shopping with kaufDA.de
“My blog is carbon neutral” is an initiative, originally started in Germany by the “Make it Green” programme, that has the goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. They plant a tree for your blog and thereby neutralise your blog’s carbon footprint for the next 50 years! Everyone can make a small contribution to the environment. Every tree counts!

All I had to do was write a short blog post about their programme “My blog is carbon neutral” and include one of the buttons below on my site (ideally in the sidebar). Send the link to your blog to CO2-neutral@kaufda.de and they plant a tree for me, neutralising the carbon dioxide emissions of my blog. The trees will be planted in the spring of 2010 by the Arbor Day Foundation.

If anything it has really got me thinking about some great ways the family and I can do our part. Wednesdays are always our down days and have nothing planned. Except today we have a dentist visit.
Staring today we are going to do something extra for the environment every wednesday. Coincidently today is also trash pick up day. Perfect!

Hmmm what should we do extra today?
I'll let you know at the end of the day...

fun times...

Colin's weekend stared off with MOTORCYLES!
And lots of them and he loved every minute of it!

Next came movie night and some old school Jiffy pop.
I'm not sure why Emilie is doing that. Maybe she thinks it going to explode... Either way it's funny.

I love that this is how he falls asleep almost every night.

olives...

What could have caused her to make this awesome face?
GREEN OLIVES

And this fabulous face...
The wonderful AVACADO!

Today...

Was nice and mellow...
Colin had school, and it rained.
We ate lunch, and it rained.
Emilie napped, and it rained.
But...It stopped raining long enough for Colin to show off some sweet moves for Molly on his bike.
I love that she warms her tush on my feet.

And her sweet little hands touch everything... I love those little hands

Sunday morning...

Ni Hao Y'all

This morning came way to fast...
I gave massages all day and Doug and Colin went to Qwest field to watch motorcycle(jealous)
I guess Emilie did not get the memo that wake up time should be 8 and not 630.
But, Emilie got to bring home something special from Grammies last night and she just had to start playing with her ASAP.

Hey Em, let me get a picture of you and baby.... Guess not...
Good morning!
Have a great Sunday!
So far it is sunny out. HURRAY!

Finding Joy...

Once Colin hit 2 years old I threw my hands up in defeat. Puddles 100. Me 0
Now I just plan days around them. Grab the boots kiddos where heading out to find puddles.
Whether it's in the Costco parking lot or at the park after Colin's T-ball practice they always have fun.
Soon enough Molly will be in those puddles,
for now she likes the sidelines, eating her flowers.

Happy Earth Day!

Over at pixel perfect she does a Before & After picture editing.
I 'm not a brave photo editor. Rarely do it. Have no idea what I am doing.
The pictures that come out of the camera that I am am currently borrowing(from an amazing friend) is so much better them my old camera that they already feel edited to me.

This picture was taken on my iPhone~

This picture was then editing in my phone using "shake it"
I know not very exciting, but it jazzes up those so so phone photos.

rain, rain...

Can we come out and play?

Many errands where ran today including a haircut for Colin and a trip to Costco
Between each stop there was always time to splash in the puddles.
Costco was the best because at our Costco the back parking lot is always empty and full of puddles.

Photos taken on phone...

a glimpse...

...at what are summers look like.
My kids are crazy messy until they jump into the tub at the end of the day
We eat Popsicles everyday when the ice cream motorcycle gal comes by
we spend ALL DAY outside.
This weekend was amazing and was such a teaser because once again it is raining.

Doesn't it look like she would be saying "this is how I roll"

First Popsicle

I love his outfit.
You would think that we already live on the farm that I dream about everyday...

and the winner is....

Colin!!
Only one piece was missing!!
Amazing!
Congrats little dude!
I'm going to do this contest again because I really want to send out the surprise to someone.
Heading to Goodwill tomorrow!
And it really does glow in the dark!! Totally worth 99 cents!

Morning Sun...

It was such an amazing Sunday morning.
We headed down to the pond, spread out a blanket, ate peanut butter sandwiches for breakfast
and waited...
We went there to feed the ducks.
Where are the ducks? Where are the 6 that are always here.
Maybe sitting on there eggs?
There was one male cruising the pond and 2 boys kept flying over us.
Their ladies must be hiding something very special.
she will follow him anywhere
and then complain the whole time.
But being with him is better then not.

Good bye our one duck friend...
