adventures in MT...

One of the favorite things we do when we go to the cabin is spend time with my amazing friend Lisa.
We have known each other since we became locker partners in the 6th grade at Asa Wood elementary.
I can't imagine my life without Lisa. We only get to see each other once or twice a year, but it is always like time stood still for that whole year.
She had her little dude and 6 months later I had Colin. Since birth they have been the greatest of friends.
Their time also stands still between visits.
The love I have for her and her family is endless. Every time we part we always say "When are you coming to Seattle?" It hasn't happened, except for my wedding, but it will. We will get them over here and take care of them like they always take care of us.
I will never forget when I called to tell her my dad died. The first thing she said was "When do you need me to come to Seattle?" That meant so much to me. And that just adds to the millions of reason why I love her so.

My kids where in heaven jumping on the trampoline with their MT. buddy

Another awesome thing about Lisa.
We where a little chilly so she started us a nice afternoon campfire

That went perfect with the afternoon Mojitos she made

She even took my littlest for a walk and taught her the ways of the forest

With every kiddo I've added to my family she has swooped up and loved

And so has her sweet boy

I love this family so much!

Another Cabin tradition is Turtle Cove.
It's a little area on the other side of the lake that we take the paddle boat to. you can tell when you are there. the water is an amazing blue color, you can see all the way to the bottom and the turtles are all bathing in the warm sun.

This year we got a special treat. Fish and wildlife stocked the lake with thousands of these little cuties. I think almost all of them lived under our dock

It is hard to see them but if you look real close there is two sitting on the log. And that's turtle cove behind them

The turtles are huge this year. The lake had a very mellow winter which = giant turtles, crawdads, and a ton of fish

As always Max was afraid of them, but always want to take a peek. I was hopeing Molly would've been awake to see them. But as always she was sleeping. Just as well, she would have just screamed. Which on a side note is hilarious. she screams like a 25 year old girl. I picked that age because when I was 25 I think that is what my scream sounded like :-)

This was the smallest and hardest one to catch. The big ones are slow and lazy. I think I was able to get two of them in the net at the same time. I looked like such a rock star to my kids!

Once we are done admiring them we say our goodbyes and let them go back home.
